Gary Kamiya has a moving article on parenting at Salon.com titled “Childhood’s End.” He talks about dealing with the fact that his daughter, Celeste, is growing up. I considered trying to summarize it more or post some quotes, but it simply must be experienced. As a parent of 13 and 11 year old girls, there was much here that I could identify with.
It would make for an interesting discussion to consider how a parents perspective on this might differ from that daughter’s perspective.
